Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:PM At Knox Presbyterian Church Hall, 29 High Street, Vankleek Hill, ON
March 1st
- Growing Green: Gardening & Sustainability Fair 10am to 4pm
- L'Escale High School, 1535 Du Parc Avenue, Rockland
- We will have a table promoting Horticultural Societies in Eastern Ontario
March 19th
- In house meeting – Knox Presbyterian Church
- The speaker will be Rebecca Boyer – "Birding 101"
- An informal Seed Exchange and free seeds will be held afterwards.
April 16th
- In house meeting – Knox Presbyterian Church
- The speaker will be Scott MacWhirter - "What do you want to know about bees"
April 18th
- Saturday 8:30am to 3:30pm
- at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute 5814 County Road 34, Vankleek Hill
- We will be hosting the nine horticultural societies of District 1 of the OHA
- Breakfast & Lunch are included for a cost of $40.
- Registration deadline is March 27; please contact Joan King
- There will be a brief AGM followed by speakers, competitions, raffles & more!
May 21st
- In house meeting – Knox Presbyterian Church Hall
- Shauna Wanamaker - Butterfly Ranger. The topic will be "Native Plants"
- Flower & Photo competition
May 23rd
- Plant Sale – Saturday 9am to 12noon, 38 Main Street, Vankleek Hill
- A timely sale of reasonably priced indoor & outdoor plants, vegetables, seedlings, and tool sharpening.
June 21st
- Champs De Rêves Guided Tour
- 1620 Chemin Daoust, Vaudreuil-Dorion (exit 26 Hudson)
- Sunday, time to be confirmed, carpool available.
- Entrance fee is $17.95 for seniors, $19.95 for adults with a 20% discount for groups of twenty or more. See these stunning gardens, mosaicultures, & nursery. Picnic tables in a shaded area will be available for those who wish to bring their own lunch.
July 19th
- Member's Garden Tour
- Sunday, time to be confirmed.
- A self-guided tour of some of our members' wonderful gardens. At the last location, an informal get-together is planned. Beverages and munchies donations will be most appreciated.
July 24th to 26th
- OHA AGM in Oshawa. Details will be available on the OHA website.
August 9th
- Fields of Gold
- 17650 Strathmore Road, Monkland
- Sunday, time to be confirmed, carpool available.
- Visit Stephanie & Jakob at their amazing fields of sunflowers and so much more!
September 17th
- In House meeting – Knox Presbyterian Church Hall
- The speaker will be Kayoki Whiteduck, owner of Mitigomen Agriculture
Kayoki is Algonquin Anishaanawbe from Kitigan Zibi Quebec. He has studied Horticulture, Herbalism and as a Tea Sommelier. He will be speaking on creating Herbal Teas and samples will be available.
October 15th
- In House meeting – Knox Presbyterian Church Hall
- AGM – followed by Daniel Brisebois of Tourne-sol who will speak on seed saving.
November 12th
- At Knox Church. Our final society meeting of the year.
- A social gathering featuring turkey dinner with all the trimmings!
- Competitions with prizes, garden books available, and good fun to be had by all!
